Production of Epidermal Growth Factor in Preovulatory Granulosa Cells and It's Regulation by Growth Hormone

Abstract

|
To clarify whether human preovulatory granulosa cells secret epidermal growth factor, granulosa cells were obtained from 11 patients under IVF-ET cycles and EGF concentration was measured by enzyme linked immuno-assay in the 11 samples of media
in
which
preovulatory granulosa cells had been cultured. As results, EGF was measured in all elevent samples and their concentrations were higher than those of pre-culture media. Moreover, the concentrations were higher in the media inwhich human
recombinant
growth hormone (4 ng/ml) was added than in the media of no GH. This study demonstrates that ovarian granulosa cell secret EGF, and growth hormen enhances granulosa cell production of EGF.
